The Atlanta Metro Travel Association (AMTA) creates opportunities for travel and spending in the Metro Atlanta area, with a focus on Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fulton, Fayette, Gwinnett and Henry counties.
The Sticky Wicket
As the collective voice for tourism in Atlanta, AMTA is in charge of purchasing ad space and creating marketing promotions for the area. In December 2016, the association found itself in the midst of a tight deadline and no design options to fill the ad space for two big publications: Southern Living and Meredith Publishing (the parent company of Better Homes & Garden, Shape and Parents, among others).
The Awesome Sauce
Toward the last week of 2016, AMTA tapped R&R to create a new ad design direction that the organization could submit to the publications by the second week of 2017 — a fast turn for a new partnership! AMTA and R&R worked quickly to get to know one another. While R&R has first-hand knowledge of what makes its hometown so awesome, an initial immersion and two initial design directions helped ensure the campaign’s goals and objectives were met. The resulting full-page and half-page ads went to the pub on time, with a completely new layout, punchy copy and happy clients.
