Georgetown, Texas is a small city located in the heart of Texas’ Hill Country and just north of Austin. The City of Georgetown will become the first and largest city in Texas to secure 100 percent of its purchased power from renewable sources.
The Sticky Wicket
After being selected as a finalist in the Bloomberg Philanthropies U.S. Mayors Challenge, Visit Georgetown wanted to creatively educate focus group participants on its proposed path to become the first energy independent community in the country. To best showcase its idea of partnering with residents to install solar panels and battery storage at their homes, the city needed clear, engaging and thought-provoking visuals to ensure their million-dollar idea came to life.

Of the 35 finalists, Bloomberg Philanthropies U.S. Mayors Challenge awarded a $1 million prize to Georgetown, Texas for best demonstrating a potential solution to one of the toughest problems cities across the country face. With its renewable energy thoughts being a literal million-dollar idea, we’re so proud to have been a part of this incredible accomplishment!
