Lake Havasu City, Arizona, is one of those perfect vacation destinations offering sun, sand and a plethora of fun. Home to the original London Bridge, miniature lighthouses and the Bridgewater Channel, Lake Havasu City has become a well-known tourist spot for spring breakers, summer vacationers and year-round travelers. And with 400 miles of coastline, 300 days of sunshine and 60 miles of navigable waterways, it’s no wonder the community has developed into the ideal spot to “play like you mean it®.”
The Sticky Wicket
Although the city has more than enough to do, see and explore offline, their digital home was not offering the same experience. Therefore, Lake Havasu City Convention & Visitors Bureau tapped R&R to help design and develop a website that would stimulate more interest in and drive visitation to the destination, as well as serve as a one-stop resource for everything from planning to staying and playing. Beyond the front-end aesthetic goals, the website also needed to be built on an easy-to-use content management system with a more robust back-end interface that would enable the Lake Havasu team to manage and grow their content without third-party assistance.
The Awesome Sauce
Launched toward the end of Q2, GoLakeHavasu.com has received positive feedback across markets, from the internal CVB team to visitors. It offers visitors a welcoming experience with easy-to-follow navigation and diverse content, from blogs to videos and searchable databases that make planning easier. The site, built using the WordPress Content Management System has allowed for real-time updates and faster load times.
