The National Infantry Museum is a premier attraction honoring the valor and sacrifice of the American soldier. Located near Atlanta in Columbus, Georgia, their impressive exhibits, attractions and events warrant a visit. Even better, it’s free — a fact that USA Today noticed in 2016 when they designated it a “Best Free Museum in America.”
The Sticky Wicket
Accolades don’t necessarily translate to visitors through the door, though. Most of the museum’s target market (Atlanta and its surrounding areas) didn’t have a high awareness of the museum. Situated so close to the major metro hub, it was easily overlooked by Atlanta-sized attractions.
