Alachua County is located in north central Florida and accounts for a population of 247,336. The county is made up of the following cities: Alachua, Archer, Cross Creek, Gainesville, Hawthorne, High Springs, La Crosse, Melrose, Micanopy, Newberry and Waldo. The city of Gainesville is the county seat and is best known as the home of the University of Florida. Since 1906, the University has been the driving force of the County’s economy, culture and demographics, helping establish Alachua County as a diverse community, welcoming to local art and music talent, outdoor aficionados and research minds.
The Sticky Wicket
The Alachua County Convention and Visitors Bureau tapped R&R to re-design the VisitGainesville.com site to more accurately convey the experience of playing, staying and exploring the Alachua County area from Micanopy to High Springs and the diverse communities in between. The website needed to reflect the natural appeal of the area, but also the cultural and family-friendly aspects. Additionally, the CVB team needed a website that was easier and more efficient to update on the back-end, while complying with Google’s mandates of being mobile responsive and https secure.
The Awesome Sauce
Launched at the beginning of September 2018, aptly timed for back-to-school and football visitors, VisitGainesville.com has received an outpouring of positive responses from both the internal management team as well as external audiences.
