Celebrating Our Favorite Boss Ladies
You are likely well aware that the R&R team loves a good celebration. We welcome any and every reason to toss confetti around and pop some bubbly. You may have even joined us over the years! And while all of these festivities may come off as frivolous, they are an integral part of our culture (and why we’re always so dang cheerful)! To commemorate this year’s Boss’s Day and the two women who built this splendid space we call Rhyme & Reason, our team elected to switch it up and speak from the heart. And we thought we’d share our praise with you because we’re sure you’ll agree!
PS. Boss’s Day is today, so if you have a boss you appreciate, don’t forget to say thanks! And if you are the boss, forward this blog post to drop your team members a hint. Just kidding! (But we know you want to).
Things We’ve Learned from Scarlett
“A personal touch goes a long way. Whether it’s with her clients or her friends, Scarlett is the queen of sending little moments of delight just because, and it inspires me to be better about tiny yet meaningful gestures.”
— Lauren Castro
“Life is short, order the dessert. Life is long, find the silver lining. Perfectionism is a long and lonely journey, don’t be too proud to ask for a map. And say more with less.”
— Lizzy Danko
“Leave space in your life for quality time with the people (and pets) that matter most. Also, you don’t have to have it all figured out to get started. Just ask Scarlett and her spontaneous travel stories!”
— Crystal Petersen
“Scarlett has taught me that it’s always acceptable to let go of the high expectations you have for yourself to really allow yourself to flourish. To find your pockets of peace and joy while truly making time for life and the people and things you enjoy in it.”
— Lexi Johnson
“Since I’ve been at R&R, Scarlett has taught me so much about prioritizing moments of solace and personal joys (aka, Making Time for Life!!). Every time she spends time at the barn or takes off for world travel, I am reminded to take a moment for myself and lean into the things that bring me true delight.”
— Heather Moon
Things We’ve Learned from Karen
“You can find the silver lining in anything. From sick kids to tight deadlines, Karen has taught me that there can be something sweet, funny, or a learning moment to be found in even the toughest moments.”
— Lauren Castro
“Take time to spend with family; make time to spend with yourself. You don’t have to have all the answers, you just have to know where to find them. There’s a solution to every problem; and when there’s not, there’s Karen.”
— Lizzy Danko
“Besides teaching me that it really is possible to become a morning person, Karen reminds me to find joy in the small things. Whether giggling over an unexpected tiny hand appearance or sharing hilarious Alan Jackson music videos, Karen always finds time to bring laughter into her day, no matter how busy.”
— Crystal Petersen
“Karen radiates cool, calm and collected energy, reminding me that even when things seem like they’re on fire, there’s always a solution. She’s shown me how to laugh off less than ideal moments while making room for the fun moments, too.”
— Lexi Johnson
“Whether it’s encouraging me to push the envelope in order to create the most unique and delightful designs or inspiring me to pull on some hiking boots in search of the next best mountain view, Karen has led by example, teaching me to always be a curious explorer.”
