Mary Fellows, owner of Little Merry Fellows, an organic baby and children’s product company, responded to an email I sent discussing Rhyme & Reason Design and our kinship as fellow female business owners. From our initial email correspondence, I knew Mary was going to be a blast to work with. What she wanted from us was the design and development of a site that reflects the pureness of childhood and the warmth of a well-loved blanket (if we could have found a way to emit the scent of honeysuckle, she would have truly been stoked).

For Mary, the look and feel of the site weren’t the only things that had to be pure and simple, the functionality and e-commerce aspect also had to be easy-to-navigate by busy moms, frantic retailers and Mary herself. Rhyme & Reason teamed up with Volusion an e-commerce engine, to integrate tailored design with foolproof shopping functions.

With an e-commerce site, it is important to create a design that is not difficult to traverse and makes shopping a painless experience. The shopping functionality on the Little Merry Fellows site is simple to find through the main and sub navigation located on every page. Organization of products into specific categories was also essential in ensuring that buying was easy as 1,2,3.
