The Client

Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA) is a members-first, professional organization committed to providing innovative, educational and professional best practices to oncology camp professionals, while supporting and promoting the long-term benefits of pediatric oncology camps worldwide.

The Sticky Wicket

COCA initially partnered with R&R at the end of 2019 to conduct in-depth, qualitative research through focus groups and one-on-one interviews with members, partners and participants. The results of that research helped better define the role of the organization as a whole and develop a comprehensive vision for the future. Once research was completed in early 2020, it was evident that the organization would benefit from the creation of a comprehensive brand experience.

The Awesome Sauce

  • The comprehensive brand experience, including a messaging system, primary, secondary and alternative logo marks, a brand standards guide and eblast communication templates, was completed in early 2022.
  • The public launch of the new brand was met with exceptional feedback  across COCA’s varied target markets. One of the key goals for this project was to reintroduce and elevate  COCA through a more professional and confident brand image.
  • COCA is now firmly positioned as the premier, innovative and supportive leader in pediatric oncology camping.

Client Love

"We have enjoyed working with Rhyme & Reason in the development of our nonprofit’s re-brand. The Rhyme & Reason market driven process led us to an outstanding result! With every focus group, meeting and discussion all the way through graphic design, Scarlett and her team helped our Admin Staff and Board of Directors consider what was important not only for today but for the future of COCA. Our new brand establishes a professional tone for our membership association."

- Jennifer B. Amundsen, Executive Director, Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA-I)
