Giving back, one community at a time
Recently, Rhyme & Reason has had the opportunity to join forces with some amazing organizations in order to raise awareness, generate funds and give back to our communities. In the next few months, we will showcase a few of our design donations and update you on the success of the projects.
In Orlando, we teamed up with Eva Krzewinski to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in her quest to become the organizations Woman of the Year. The annual Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a fundraising competition among individuals in communities across the country. Each candidate is judged solely on his or her fundraising efforts, where every dollar raised counts as one vote. The annual competition is meant to educate local communities about the blood diseases, the research being conducted to cure them and the effects that the diseases have on both the patient and their loved ones.
Knowing first hand about the debilitating affects of Leukemia, Rhyme & Reason was more than delighted to help develop a Custom Facebook Fan Page for the cause. The R&R team, in partnership with Eva’s company Pearls for Women, was able to create a unique Fan Page that family’s perfectly with Eva’s campaign look and feel. The campaign called, “Purse Strings, Every Dollar Counts” gained its name from Eva’s idea to carry a custom-designed campaign purse to every event. The purse, by local purse designer Hala Melcher of Shag Couture, is to act as both the monetary collection holder, as well as an educational parcel to disperse materials about the diseases and the importance of early detection. Between Hala’s design patterns, Eva’s vivacious personality and the Pearls for Women brand image, designing a Fan Page was all about bringing in the pink, the pearls and the panache. Karen’s first design hit the nail on the head and the Fan Page was ready to go within three weeks of initiation.
If you live in or around Orlando, check out Eva’s fundraising events, or better yet give Scarlett a shout and see where you can meet her for the next one. If you don’t live anywhere near the house of the mouse, we’d still love for you to take a peek at the Fan Page, donate to Eva (or any LLS fundraiser!) and share it with your friends and family.
Ten weeks from now, we will know who the Woman of the Year is for the Orlando LLS chapter and if it’s Eva we will be jumping for joy. If it’s not, the opportunity to participate in raising awareness and funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is award enough.
