A Pony Tale
I bet you’ve been wondering why My Little Ponies have been making cameos on Rhyme & Reason’s social media feeds and around our office. Well, like all good fairy tales, it starts something like this…
Once upon a time,
in a three-story Poncey-Highland walk-up, there toiled four lovely young women of different ages, hairstyles and skill sets. From before 9 to well after 5, these women worked Photoshop magic and spun project management gold, breaking here and there to indulge in a tasty treat or trendy celebrity gossip. Though some days were longer than others and looming deadlines caused some hair-on-fire moments, the foursome loved their jobs. That was until the unexpected happened.
Dun, dun, duuuun.
(Okay, okay, let’s not get that dramatic. Seeing as agency life is full of the unexpected, nothing should be that shocking. Then again, this is a fairy tale so everything is a bit more over the top.)
Our heroines should have known it was going to be one of those days. The week began with a fury of activity; barely a moment was spared to gulp down a lunch of re-heated veggies. Even their powers seemed to be on the fritz. The day of reckoning started with a simple call and then spiraled out of control to an eblast, then an email, and before the women knew it, stress was bubbling forth with villainous vengeance. They tried to control it, but it was too powerful. By the time darkness fell, they had succumbed, their joie de vivre depleted. One of the project managers took it harder than the others. Her once happy-go-lucky personality was so downtrodden, the rest of the team feared it would never return. As she rode off into the night, the others slowly pulled themselves together, gaining strength and fortitude to do battle with the stressors and win!
Before the saddened manager could return, the other three had defeated the stressors and uncovered a magical resource said to cure despair and restore happiness to all those who come in contact with it. When the fourth friend walked through the office door, she was overcome with joy. There in the middle of the room stood the magical resource, a My Little Pony named Rainbow Dash and her three heroic friends, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy. From that day forward, the stressors were no match for the women and their ponies and happiness reigned.
The End!
