Just recently, Rhyme and Reason Design took on a new project that, among many other things, includes coming up with a creative company name for a new client of ours. Quick background on this awesome, new company.. they make intimate apparel that is being marketed towards young, professional women who are trendy, successful, fun and confident. Anyways, being the superb cook that I am, I decided to have lunch at Panera the other day while working on this project. With my chicken tortilla soup and iced tea off to the side, I started thinking to myself, “A lot of successful companies use words from other languages.. Like Nike. I’ll give that a try.” So I Google “Latin feminine sexy chic.” Don’t ask my why I picked Latin or even that combination of adjectives, it was just the first thing that flew into my head. So, take a wild guess what pops up when you Google that… You got it! Latin porn sites! Even better yet.. when you’re focusing on your bread bowl instead of the links you’re clicking on, especially when you’re in a public place, it can get a bit embarrassing. I look up from my soup to see a handful of naked Latin women strewn across my screen and instantly panic. I slam my lap top shut and start scanning the crowd behind me to see if anyone noticed the creepy girl in the corner looking at porn over lunch in Panera. Of course my spastic attempt to cover it up only attracted more attention. Luckily, I did manage to keep my porn viewing undetected. So much for company research.
