The Port Arthur Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Port Arthur, Texas. The Bureau is responsible for marketing the Port Arthur area as a visitor destination for tour groups, conventions and leisure travelers in an effort to enhance the economic development of the entire community.

The Sticky Wicket

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, not only did the Port Arthur Convention and Visitors Bureau lose its physical location and much of its files, its digital home was also compromised. This left the organization without a footprint and emotionally depleted. The rebuilding of the community began with the physical structures and the residents’ hearts. In time, both were mended. Then came the need to create a new digital experience that reflects the area’s future, not its past.

The Awesome Sauce

  • Launched March 2019, the website won first place for mobile site and 2nd place for website at TACVB’s 2019 Idea Fair Awards.
  • On average, site CTAs have resulted in a request of 40+ visitors guides per month and a conversion rate of 5.8 percent.
  • The TX Fish & Wildlife Campaign averaged a .42% CTR (compared to the industry average of .08%).
