Designs in Bloom
Great work doesn’t just happen; it’s grown. From early ideas and designs to launch day, our team has had the chance to shape and nurture some incredible projects this year. Take a look as we highlight a few favorites and the thinking, creativity and collaboration that brought them to life.
Scarlett: The Farmer’s Bank
During the last 18 years, we’ve had the distinct pleasure of partnering with magnificent humans on a myriad of projects. And it just so happens that one of our biggest brand champions, Steve Latour, has returned to the R&R family, bringing with him his new organization, The Farmers Bank. From Greek projects a decade ago to community marketing not that long ago, Steve has always trusted us to bring truly beautiful designs to life. This time with The Farmers Bank, we’re stepping into a completely new industry…banking. And discovering how to make the financial center experience more approachable and maybe even a little bit more magical. In less than a year, we’ve designed a plethora of goodies including business cards, an annual report, vision day materials, a 150th anniversary mark, nutcracker holiday campaign, external signage, internal marketing, social communications and so much more!
Karen: Explore Calhoun-Gordon County
It’s been such a fun and rewarding experience working with Gordon County on their rebrand to Explore Calhoun. From renaming the destination to developing a fresh logo mark, cohesive business system, tradeshow booth, and full ad campaign, every piece has contributed to a true transformation.
And the fun continues! With a photoshoot and new visitors guide on the horizon I’m excited to see the brand continue to unfold and bring visitors to this hidden gem.
Lauren: Kappa Kappa Gamma Leadership Academy
For Kappa Kappa Gamma’s Leadership Academy, we helped bring a vision of connection, growth, and sisterhood into full bloom. We created the event’s visual system – a camp-inspired brand identity with supporting templates that the event organizers could use across every touchpoint.
I especially enjoyed leaning into the nostalgic camp aesthetic for the interactive Field Guide, which invited attendees to lead, learn, doodle, and dream with purpose. It was especially rewarding to see participants use what we created to connect with each other and make lasting memories.
Lizzy: Gilmer County Pollinator Garden Signage
There have been so many lovely projects to choose from, but one that particularly blooms delight is Gilmer County’s Pollinator Garden signage. As someone who counts spring as her favorite season, the topic of lush blooms and buzzing bees already had me in a perennial state of joy. Created to educate visitors about the importance of pollinators in North Georgia’s ecosystem, the signs are bilingual in both English and Spanish (because a garden that welcomes everyone deserves signage that does, too). Beatrix Potter-inspired illustrations of regionally specific pollinators brought the valuable information to life. The end result speaks to one of R&R’s founding principles: that beautiful design and smart ideas go hand in hand. You simply can’t have one without the other, and this one is especially pretty, which feels fitting for the garden it calls home.
Crystal: Visit Georgetown, TX – Two Step Inn Materials
Last year, we partnered with our friends at Visit Gorgetown, Texas to create a backdrop and giveaway swag for their booth at the Two Step Inn Music Festival, aka the world’s largest outdoor honkytonk. For the event, we created everything from enamel pins to stickers, vintage motel-inspired postcards and keychains to showcase Georgetown as a fun and vibrant place to visit.
I most enjoyed creating all the illustrative elements used for the stickers and enamel pins, which later went on to win an award. The project provided the perfect opportunity to strengthen Georgetown’s campaign brand in a unique, memorable way. After all, there was a chance the event materials we created could end up in the hands of headliner Alan Jackson!
Rosie: Downtown Round Rock – Random Acts of Fun Brand
If “fun” were a brand, what would it look like? That was the question we got to answer for Downtown Round Rock’s spontaneous event series, Random Acts of Fun. Designed to surprise and delight, each event looks a little different. It might be a coffee cart with custom mugs one day, free flowers another, popsicles for the whole family the next.
But from the moment you spy a whimsical floor decal inviting you onwards, you’ll know one thing’s for sure – you’re in for fun. The buildout included a vibrant booth setup, complete with a giant, 4-foot illustrated water tower, sticker sheets, cards, custom giphy stickers and animated social teasers. I’m especially proud to have work living in the world that’s such a positive force for happiness and connection.
