CIMA, our newest bundle of joy

It’s only January and we’re already welcoming a brand new website to the world. CIMAsalud.net is the newly launched site for CIMA the International Maternity Center. The maternity center has been assisting mothers – regardless of insurance, language or culture for more than 10 years. Calling four different neighborhoods in Atlanta home, CIMA is able to utilize Northside Hospital’s premier maternity facility for each and every birth.

Having the opportunity to design and develop this website was a unique experience for the entire Rhyme & Reason Design team. Since CIMA caters to a diverse target market, R&R had to research and understand the cultural dimensions of four demographics in order to create a site that would be effective and relatable to each group. When working with a variety of cultures, it is important to research the meaning of colors, designs, images and word choice. Awareness of cultural differences and a background in International Advertising helped R&R avoid the all-too typical pitfalls of multi-cultural marketing. Over the course of several weeks, Rhyme and Reason teamed up with three sets of translators to tailor each site’s copy towards its readers, ensuring that the appropriate message was clear and culturally inspired. Not only did we get to brush up on our language skills, but Erin got a crash course in coding over a dozen special characters unique to the Vietnamese language. Sounds like fun, right?

From conception to birth, the CIMA site has been a wonderful experience for our entire team. We wish CIMA the best of luck in the coming year and congratulate them for creating four amazing facilities to care for the family planning, pre-natal care, delivery and post-natal care of everyone that comes through their doors.
